年費續約的問題？ - costco

我的costco卡今年八月底就會到期
因為這一年很忙，所以繳了年費後只去了兩次costco，也沒有買很多東西
所以前天去costco結帳時，小姐問我要不要續繳年費，我就說不用了(太少去了)
我說可能要到明年過年時我才會再去，所以到時我再續卡
小姐跟我說：不管我甚麼時候續卡，都是從今年九月起算，所以早辦晚辦都一樣
我想請問是不是今年九月到明年八月間續卡，都只能算這一段時期？
如果我明年八月才續不就只能用一個月？
（因為我現在幾乎只有過年和暑假才會去costco採買...）
如果明年九月後續卡呢？
或者後年一月再續卡？（從明年九月起算？）
有點不太懂年費續卡的規則，想要確定一下...
